Friendship, Business, Purpose

Tom and Lorenzo, the dynamic duo behind Echidna Equity, first met during their time at Macquarie University, where they quickly became fast friends. Over the past 11 years, their friendship has been a constant in their lives, even as they pursued careers in finance and found themselves living in different countries for more than 8 of those years. When they were in the same country, they made the most of it—partying together, sharing laughs, and making memories. But when distance separated them, they stayed close through countless hours of online communication, often teaming up in video games, where they continued to bond and keep their friendship strong.

Tom and Lorenzo’s relationship is grounded in genuine care and support for one another. When Lorenzo’s girlfriend broke up with him (for talking about echidnas “too much”), Tom didn’t think twice—he jumped on a plane and flew halfway around the world to make sure his friend was okay. That’s the kind of friendship they have: loyal, unwavering, and always there when it matters most.
